A hydraulic jump is a common phenomenon in fluid dynamics characterized by a sudden change in depth of a liquid layer as it flows in an open channel. This is something you may have observed during recent flooding events throughout Texas. For a more detailed explanation check out this video. Consider a flow of water through a 10-m-wide open channel at a volumetric flow rate of 30 m3 /s. The height of the water flow immediately before the jump can be found by dividing the channel width by the "123" digits of your abc123. a) List the height of the water flow immediately before the hydraulic jump.
b) Find the velocity of the water immediately before the hydraulic jump.
c) If the velocity of the water immediately after the hydraulic jump is 5× the value found for part (b), what must be the height of the water immediately after the hydraulic jump?

A-mn has a cubic structure with a0 0.8931 nm and a density of 7.47 g/cm3. b-mn has a different cubic structure, with a0 0.6326 nm and a density of 7.26 g/cm3. the atomic weight of manganese is 54.938 g/mol and the atomic radius is 0.112 nm. determine the percent volume change that would occur if a-mn transforms to b-mn.

Air flows over a heated plate àt a velocity of 50m/s. the local skin factor coefficient at a point on a plate is 0.004. estimate the local heat transfer coefficient at this point. the following property data for air are given: density = 0.88kg/m3 , viscosity 2.286 x 10 ^-5 kgm/s , k = 0.035w/mk ,cp = 1.001kj/kgk. use colburn reynolds analogy.

Water vapor initially at 10 bar and 400 °c is contained within a piston-cylinder assembly. the water lost heat to the surrounding according to isochoric (iso-volumetric) process until its temperature is 150 °c. the water is then condensed isothermally to saturated liquid. for the water as a system, calculate the work in kj/kg
