A solid has its circular base on the x-y plane, center at the origin and a radius of 0.5. Its height is determined by

z=cos⁡(x-0.25) sin⁡(y-0.9)+4

Picture the solid as a cylinder but the top of it is not flat, rather it is cut by the function expressed by the equation above

a. Create a mesh plot of the function from x = [-0.5,0.5] and y = [-0.5,0.5]. Note: This will plot the entire square area, not just the cylindrical solid
b. Find the volume of the solid using Monte Carlo Integration. You need to find the average height of the solid on the xy domain. You will then find the volume of a cylinder with a uniform height that has the same volume as the solid. We do not have an analytical solution for this problem so you must validate your solution by demonstrating convergence (include plot).

True or false (explain) (110)[111] is a slip system in bcc metals . the {111} family in fcc contains 8 planes. resolved shear stress (rss) in single crystals is just related to the applied stress. critical resolved shear stress (crss) in single crystal metals is direct proportional to the number of defects in the structure

Liquid flows at steady state at a rate of 2 lb/'s through a pump, which operates to raise the elevation of the liquid 100 ft from control volume inlet to exit. the liquid specific enthalpy at the inlet is 40.09 btu/lb and at the exit is 40.94 btub. the pump requires 3 btu/s of power to operate. if kinetic energy effects are negligible and gravitational acceleration is 32.174 tt/s, the heat transfer rate associated with this steady state process is most closely 1)-2,02 btu/s from the liquid to the surroundings 2)-3.98 btu/s from the surroundings to the liquid. 3)-4.96 btu/s from the surroundings to the liquid. 4)-1.04 btu/s from the liquid to the surroundings.
