A stainless steel was plunge ground with a 8" silicon carbide bonded abrasive wheel of fine grain and medium density. The infeed used was 0.3310−inch and the work traverse speed was 2.50ipm, and it was felt that the wheel hardness in this application is appropriate. Suppose a 4inch wheel of the same grain size and density is to be used and the new hardness should not be greater than previous in accomplishing the same material removal rate (it means that the wheel should be softer), what should be the limitations on the new infeed and the new traverse speed?

A2-m rigid tank initially contains saturated water vapor at 100 kpa. the tank is connected to a supply line through a valve. steam is flowing in the supply line at 600 kpa and 300 c. the valve is opened, and steam is allowed to enter the tank until the pressure in the tank reaches the line pressure, at which point the valve is closed. a thermometer placed in the tank indicates that the temperature at the final state is 200°c. determine (a) the mass of steam that has entered the tank (b) the amount of heat transfer.
