An airplane is moving at a constant speed of 600 miles/hr. Each of its four jet engines has an inlet area of 10 ft² and an exit area of 3 ft². The fuel to air ratio is 1 to 40. The exit velocity of the combustion products is 6000 ft/s relative to the plane at a local gage pressure of 4 psi. The plane is at 40,000 ft where the air density is 5.94x10⁴ slugs/ft³. Mass flow rates of the fluids in and out of the engines are 5.23 slugs/s and 5.36 slugs/s respectively.
What is the drag force of the airplane?

Water vapor initially at 10 bar and 400 °c is contained within a piston-cylinder assembly. the water lost heat to the surrounding according to isochoric (iso-volumetric) process until its temperature is 150 °c. the water is then condensed isothermally to saturated liquid. for the water as a system, calculate the work in kj/kg
