An air conditioner takes in outdoor air at 100c and 30% relative humidity at a steady rate of 45m3/min and conditions it to 250c and 60% relative humidity. the outdoor air is first heated to 220 c in the heating section and then humidified by the injection of hot steam in the humidifying section. assuming that the entire process takes place at a pressure of 1 atm, determine: (1) the rate of heat supply in the heating section and (2) the mass flow rate of the steam in the humidifying section.

Two flowing streams of argon gas are adiabatically mixed to form a single flow/stream. one stream is 1.5 kg/s at 400 kpa and 200 c while the second stream is 2kg/s at 500 kpa and 100 ? . it is stated that the exit state of the mixed single flow of argon gas is 150 c and 300 kpa. assuming there is no work output or input during the mixing process, does this process violate either the first or the second law or both? explain and state all your assumptions.

Afull journal bearing has a journal diameter of 27 mm, with a unilateral tolerance of -0.028 mm. the bushing bore has a diameter of 27.028 mm and a unilateral tolerance of 0.04 mm. the l/d ratio is 0.5. the load is 1.3 kn and the journal runs at 1200 rev/min. if the average viscosity is 50 mpa-s, find the minimum film thickness, the power loss, and the side flow for the minimum clearance assembly.
