Asimple ideal brayton cycle operates with air with minimum and maximum tempera-tures 30◦c and 1000◦c. it is designed so that the maximum cycle pressure is 1500 kpaand the minimum cycle pressure is 100 kpa.
(a) determine the temperature, pressure and specific volume at the inlet and outlet of the compressor and the inlet and outlet of the turbine.
(b) find the heat supplied, heat rejected, work done by the system, work done on the system, net work done, back work ratio and thermal efficiency.
(c) calculate the thermal efficiency of a carnot cycle operating between the same temperature limits.
(d) calculate the change in entropy of the working fluid for (i) the combustion process, and (ii) the exhaust process.
(e) sketch the p − v and t − s diagrams.
(f) if the mass flow rate is 50kg/s, find the power output.

For the closed feedwater heater below, feedwater enters state 3 at a pressure of 2000 psia and temperature of 420 °f at a rate of ix10 ibhr. the feedwat extracted steam enters state 1 at a pressure of 1000 psia and enthalpy of 1500 btu/lbm. the extracted er leaves at an enthalpy of 528.7 btu/lbm steam leaves as a saturated liquid. (16) a) determine the mass flow rate of the extraction steam used to heat the feedwater (10) b) determine the terminal temperature difference of the closed feedwater heater
