Reasoning: In Scenario's 2 and 3 the easiest and quickest form of communication would simply be to make a phone call, however; this option is not available in scenario 1 as Jane has a different schedule so it not available at the same time as the other two.

Instant messaging would be more useful as Jane can check the messages later at a time she is available.
