So, the quantity of alcohol in the mixture of a and b = 0.13(x-100) + 0.17x

= 0.13x - 13 + 0.17x

= 0.30x  - 13

According to the question,

Total quantity of alcohol in the mixture = 347 ml,

⇒ 0.30x  - 13 = 347

⇒ 0.30x = 347 + 13

⇒ 0.30x = 360

⇒ x = = 1200

Hence, the quantity of solution b is 1200 ml.
