In our case soup jar is at higher temperature and ice water is at lower temperature. Therefore the heat will flow from hot soup to the ice water.

Also the jars are placed in an insulated box. That means all the heat that is lost from the hot soup will be gained by ice water.

As a result, temperature of ice water would start to increase and that of hot soup would start to decrease.

This process will continue till an equilibrium is established and both the jars are at the same temperature.
