In a collision boundary where plates collide, depending on the buoyancy of the plates one may suduct, sinking to the aesthenosphere region causing an uprising of magma to the surface of the earth. when this semi liquid (magma) solidified on the surface of the earth, new rocks are formed known as igneous rocks.

In a divergence boundary where plates move away from each other the other end of the plates might sink into trenches thereby melting into the interior of the earth due to high temperature. Rocks sinks into trenches and are destroyed.
