Properties of water from a glacier and geyser

Water has three phases: liquid, gas, and solids. Can be easily changed to phase in the temperature range that is in the earth's surface. Global water cycle is based on three phases of water.

Water in the solid phase (ice) is lighter than the liquid phase. This is an anomaly; in general, other compounds in the solid phase has a density greater than the liquid phase so that it will sink.
