The neutralization of hydrochloric acid with sodium hydroxide solution involves the reaction
HCH(aq) + NaOH(aq) → NaCl(aq) +H2O(l)
In one experiment, a student placed 500 ml of 1.0 M HCl in a styrofoam cup
calorimeter and carefully measured its temperature to be 25.5c. To this was added
50.0 mL of 1.0M NaOH solution whose temperature was also 25.5-C. The mixture
was quickly stirred and the student noticed that the temperature rose to 32.00
Calculate the heat of reaction per mole of HCl. Assume the density of all solutions is
100g/mL and the specific heat capacity of each solution was 4 19/8C
