A two component mixture, benzoic acid and 4-chloroaniline, needed to be separated by extraction, and the student figured that no ether was needed, since there was no neutral compound. So the mixture was placed in a separatory funnel with 3 N HCl to dissolve the 4-chloroaniline and 3 N NaOH to dissolve the benzoic acid. What is wrong with this extraction strategy
