In this activity you will be “given” a 100.0 mL sample of contaminated water containing metal ions (NiCl2). You will precipitate out the metal ion chosen using an excess of concentrated solution of the chosen ‘reactant solution’ (Na2CO3).
Using the yield of precipitate from the measurements in the video (0.41g) , you will be able to determine the concentration of your assigned metal ion in the water sample.
