Two continents have the most obvious fit of the coastlines are the east coast of South America and the west coast of Africa.

According to the examination of a world map it reveals a striking match between the shapes of the east coast of South America and the west coast of Africa. Attached the map which shows the west coast of Africa in 1842 and also the map of the east coast of South America. According to the picture of the west coast of Africa in 1842,  we can see Sierra Leone and Freetown, where the West India Regiments arrived and departed from.

Two continents have the most obvious fit of the coastlines are the east coast of South America and the west coast of Africa, because the east coast of South America and the west coast of Africa seem to fit together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.

Wegener discovered that their rock layers are fit just as it clearly.  All the landmasses used to be one great landmass called Pangaea. Due to plate tectonics, fire movements in the mantle of the earth, the continents are slowly through millions of years, spread farther apart.
