How can an experiment support or fail a hypothesis

A hypothesis is given to explain a phenomena which has not been explained till then. it can be supported by an experiment if that experiment gets the other results regarding that particular phenomena in agreement with that being predicted by the hypothesis

Well, a hypothesis is " a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation" which would mean you pretty much make an educated guess on what you will think will happen depending on your experiment. So if you guess correctly on what will happen (Example. I think the egg will break, then after you do the experiment the egg does break. This will mean your hypothesis is correct) But if you guess incorrectly this would mean your hypothesis would be incorrect, which I guess would mean if you got it right it would be supporting the hypothesis and if you got it wrong, that would be failing the hypothesis. Then again you should always double check with a parent or guardian because I am not completely sure I read the question correctly. I hope this helps anyways,Good luck!
