5.In the laboratory, hydrogen gas is usually made by the following reaction: Zn(s) + 2 HCl(aq) → H2(g) + ZnCl2(aq). H2 gas is collected over water with a total pressure of 752 mm Hg and a temperature of 20.0°C. How many liters of H2 gas can be produced from 3.566 g of Zn and excess HCl? Molar mass of Zn is 65.38 g/mol and molar mass of H2 is 2.016g / mol.
A possibly useful table of water vapor pressures is provided below.
T (°C) P (mm Hg)
20 17.55
25 23.78
30 31.86
