One group of marine shellfish lives near a coastline by the mouth of a river. Another species of shellfish lives further down the coast. They are never found together.
Why?

They cannot find food when they are near to each other.

The mussels near the river are avoiding people.

They do not "know" the other species exists.

They prefer different levels of salinity
