I have these orgo problems for homework and I have no idea where to even begin. We have to find missing reagents and products based on regioselectivity and stereoselectivity. Any help or explanations would be greatly appreciated!!

I can try though.. There are three types of selectivity possible for any synthesis: (i) Chemoselectivity is deciding which group reacts. (ii) Regioselectivity is where the reaction takes place in that group. (iii) Stereoselectivity is how the group reacts with respect to the stereochemistry of the product.

A stereospecific mechanism specifies the stereochemical outcome of a given reactant, whereas a stereoselective reaction selects products from those made available by the same, non-specific mechanism acting on a given reactant. Of stereoisomeric reactants, each behaves in its own specific way.

a is incorrect because when water solidifies, it becomes   ice, which expands and occupies a bigger volume for the same mass of water in its liquid state.

b is incorrect because water has high surface tension. besides bonding to itself it hydrogen bonds to other molecules at the top decreasing possibility for breaking of attractive forces.

c is incorrect because the water molecule has oxygen which is highly electronegative and so pulls the electron pair towards itself creating a dipole moment, making the molecule polar.

e is incorrect because water has strong adhesion, ability to stick to other molecules such as glass because of this molecules having stronger hydrogen bonding than water.
