PROPOSED EXERCISE ITEM 4 Three solid substances are available: A, B and C. Following a procedure and using the material and
instruments, water solubility, conductivity, and conductivity are experimentally tested
melting temperature of each of the substances resulting in the following results:
-Substance A is insoluble in water, its melting point is low and does not conduct electricity.
- Substance B is insoluble in water, its melting point is very high (we have not managed to melt it)
and drives the electricity.
- Substance C is water soluble, its melting point is high and conducts electric current when
dissolved in water and melted but not in solid state.
a) Based on the data obtained, it classifies substances A, b and C into ion, covalent (molecular or
crystalline) or metallic.
b) Cites an example of each of these substances that corresponds to everyday products.
c) In the case of the ion substance you have proposed, describe the ion formation process
helping you with a representation (drawing) and periodic table to make electronic setup.
d) Classifies the substances you have chosen into elements or compounds and calculates their molecular masses
Corresponding. (Calculation must appear)

Consider the reaction: 2al(s) + fe2o3(s) → al2o3(s) + 2fe(s) the δhf for fe2o3(s) = -824.3 kj/mole. the δhf for al2o3(s) = -1675.7 kj/mole. finish the equation. δhrxn = [(1)( kj/mole) + (2)( kj/mole)] - [(1)( kj/mole) + (2) ( kj/mole)]
