Analyze and Conclude 1. Apply Write a balanced chemical equation for the
reaction and calculate the mass of copper (Cu) that
should have formed from the sample of iron (Fe)
used. This mass is the theoretical yield.
2. Interpret Data Using your data, determine the
mass and the moles of copper produced. Calculate
the moles of iron used, and determine the whole-
number iron-to-copper mole ratio and percent yield.
3. Compare and Contrast Compare the theoretical
iron-to-copper mole ratio to the mole ratio you
calculated using the experimental data.
4. Error Analysis Identify sources of the error that
resulted in deviation from the mole ratio given in
the balanced chemical equation.
