SEP Use Models Mercury is a special metal because it is liquid at room
temperature. It boils at 357°C and melts at -38°C. If you started with a solid piece
of mercury metal and added heat energy, would it follow a similar phase diagram
pattern to this one or be different? What safety precautions would you take if you
were doing this experiment?
