Activity In this activity, you’ll use a video measurement and analysis tool called Tracker to examine the movement of two charged balls, one hanging on a thread and the other held in hand by a person. Tracker is a free scientific tool available through the Open Source Physics Project. To begin your investigation, open this Tracker experiment Coulomb. Click play () to watch the video. The other video controls allow you to rewind () the video or step forward () or backward () one frame at a time. Note that x – the x-length of the radius vector between the two charged balls. Note that the radius is primarily in the x-direction, so to simplify, say that x = radius. xtail – position of the incoming charge (yellow) xhead – position of the hanging charge (red).
