When hydrochloric acid is dissolved in water the reaction produces carbon dioxide and true or false?

When it dissolves in water, it breaks down into its constituent ions, H+ and Cl-. While the Cl- ion remains by itself in solution, the newly released H+ ionattaches itself to a water molecule and forms H3O+. Since a water molecule is made of 2 hydrogen atoms combined with one oxygen atom, when we add a hydrogen atom, it then becomes 3 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom, or goes from H2O to H3O+. In other words, HCl donates hydrogen ions to water molecules, and since HCl donates hydrogen ions, it is therefore an acid. With this example in mind,we sometimes define an acid also as a substance that increases the concentration  of H+ or H3O+ ions in a solution.
