Some environmental factors can speed up the oil decomposition. For example, scientists are concerned that oil spills in the Arctic Ocean will take much longer to clean up than oil spills in the Gulf of Mexico. Explain why oil decomposition might be slower in the Arctic Ocean.
O A major spill would travel with currents in and under sea ice during the ice season, making it almost impossible to contain, recover, and decompose.
O The temperature of the Arctic is much lower than the temperature of the Gulf, therefore decomposition in the Arctic will take longer.
O The Arctic ecosystems would be more damaged by the harsh processes needed to remove oil (such as drilling).
O In the Arctic, it is too cold for enzymes and bacteria to live, which are critical to breaking down and decomposing.
O Oil will become frozen in Arctic ice, which means it will not be able to interact with the bacteria that breaks it down into smaller hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide.

Answer asap need by wednesday morning explain how a buffer works, using an ethanoic acid/sodium ethanoate system including how the system resists changes in ph upon addition of a small amount of base and upon addition of a small amount of acid respectively. include the following calculations in your i. calculate the ph of a solution made by mixing 25cm3 0.1m ch3cooh and 40cm3 0.1m ch3coo-na+. [ka = 1.74 x 10-5 m] ii. calculate the ph following the addition of a 10cm3 portion of 0.08 m naoh to 500cm3 of this buffer solution. iii. calculate the ph following the addition of a 10cm3 portion of 0.08 m hcl to 200cm3 of the original buffer solution.
