Jake left an unopened can of soda out on the football bleachers in the hot sun for half the day before he realized it. upon realizing where his can of soda was, he went back to retrieve it and decided to drink it (he doesn't mind warm soda anyways). one of jake's friends saw what he was trying to do and stopped him, telling him it would be safer to open the can after it has been sitting in the fridge for a while. besides having a colder drink to quench his thirst, why did his friend recommend it was 'safer' to put it into the fridge until it cooled down?
