What is the difference between an organic compound and an inorganic compound?

Organic compound are mostly compose of carbon while inorganic compounds rarely contains carbon

Molecules associated with living organism are organic while inorganic are devoid of living things.

Organic compound mostly involves bonding of carbon and hydrogen while inorganic compounds rarely involves C -  H bond.

Explanation:

Organic compound can be defined as carbon and it compounds. Organic compound usually contains carbon, bonded mostly with hydrogen and/or other elements. Example of organic compounds are CH4(methane), Ethane(C2H6), benzene(C6H6) etc .

While

Inorganic compounds are composed of mostly salts of metals,  elements combined to form compounds and compound that are devoid of carbon and hydrogen bond. Example includes NaCl(sodium chloride), CaCl2(calcium chloride), CO2(carbon dioxide), MgCl2(Magnesium chloride) etc.

Most organic compounds are composed of living organism . This include protein, nucleic acid , enzymes etc

Most inorganic compound are not formed from living organism .

Most  organic compound involves bonding of Carbon and hydrogen. In fact the presence of C-H bonds depicts it organic nature. example are the Alkane group compounds , Alkene and Alkyne. Only very few organic compound that are devoid of this carbon - hydrogen bonds like CCl4(carbon tetra chloride)
