Using an automatic pipettor makes transferring precise volumes of liquids easy but there is more to this technique than meets the eye. always calibrate the pipettor with pure water to check the pipettor and your technique before using one. refer to the procedure in experiment one of the lab manual for use of the pipettor. put the following general steps for using a pipettor in the correct order:
(a) depress to the first stop, put end of tip in liquid, and slowly let button up to draw liquid into tip (keep tip in liquid at all times).
(b) remove the tip before setting the pipettor down (always keep tip pointed down until it is removed from pipettor)
(c) point tip into container you want to transfer to and press the button all the way down (past first stop).
(d) select the correct pipettor that best matches the volume to be transferred
(e) place the correct tip on the pipettor and dial in the volume wanted.

what would be the volume in ml of 5.024 g of water delivered by a 5 ml pipet at 14 °c?

Silver tarnishes as silver metal reacts with hydrogen sulfide, h2s, in the air. in this reaction, dark silver sulfide, au2s, covers the surface of silver. when silver is polished, this coating of silver sulfide can be removed from the surface. this makes the silver shiny again. enter the coefficients that balance the tarnishing reaction equation. (type 1 for no coefficient.)

Freezing and boiling are endothermic processes. this means that these processes absorb energy from their surroundings in order to occur. use this information and the data you collected in the phase change gizmo to describe what happens to the temperature of water when you boil it, then explain why this result occurs.
