HA ↔H+ + A-

where HA = protonated form

A- = deprotonated form

The pH of stomach = 2.0

Based on Henderson-Hasselbalch equation:

pH = pka + log[A-]/[HA]

(or) [A-]/[HA] = $10^{pH-pKa} = 10^{2.0 -2.97 } = 10^{-0.97} = 0.1072$

[A-] = 0.1072 [HA]
