In most sales jobs, customers act like they are better than the sales person.

As they say, the costumer is always right, and im not sure exactly what you are looking for in an answer, but i believe this is a physiological happening in where the consumer sees the salesperson as lesser because the consumer is giving them money for something, it also may be an arrogance thing.
