I applaud Peachtree City and Fayette County governments for their latest involvement, which would benefit our economy. Previously, the city had lowered the lake's water level so that residents living on the lake could protect their shorelines. When the city council was filling the lake, city officials noticed issues with the dam and spillway and alerted Fayette County. The completion of this project was hampered by financial restraints, but the Peachtree City council agreed to invest extra funds to complete it. That was the best decision I could have made. Residents' homes (and land values) have been restored, and the lake will once again attract tourists who will enjoy the lake and invest money in our town's businesses.
