Assume that last summer you were an intern at Dewey, Cheatum and How Incorporated (DCHI) working in their New York headquarters in the customer claims division. DCHI is one of the major firms in the insurance industry(focusing on life insurance, health insurance, malpractice insurance, consumer product liability insurance, and pet insurance). The internships at DCHI are extremely attractive with high pay and great perks. One reason the internships are so attractive is that of the five interns DCHI takes in the claims division, at least one, and sometimes three or four are offered a job after graduation. In fact, you took a job offer and you have been working for DCHI for one year. Given your clear understanding of the intern role (and your knowledge gained from the HCO reading today), yourboss assigns you the following tasks:

a. Make a case for why effective performance appraisal is important enough for managers to review the current intern appraisal system.
b. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the current performance appraisal used for interns.
c. Make recommendations for improvement and indicate why and how your recommendation is an improvement.
