Brian had been thinking about purchasing a reliable used car for a few weeks. He knew that the wisest decision for him to make would be to look for a newer car, with low miles, at a fair price. While passing a used car lot, Brian noticed a beautiful Camaro for sale... he just had to
check it out. The Camaro was black (his favorite color), had T-tops and appeared to be in excellent condition.
After speaking with the salesman, Brian learned that the Camaro was 12 years old and had almost 90K miles on it. Brian was originally
planning on buying a car no more than five years old with less than 30K miles on it. But... how cool would it be, Brian thought, to show up at
his friend's house that evening to drive to the concert they had tickets to in an awesome black Camaro with T-tops?! Besides... it was within
his budget - and, he deserved it!! The only differences were that it was older and had many more miles on it than what he was originally
looking for.
1) Should Brian purchase the Camaro? Why or Why not?
2) What would be the wisest financial decision for Brian to make?
3) If you were the salesperson, what sales tactics would you use to convince Brian to purchase the Camaro?
