Big co has a charge account at stuff depot. grunt is the person that normally goes to stuff depot for big co and brings the merchandise back to bigco. grunt does not have the authority to order on the account, he is simply the pack mule that brings the stuff back to bigco each week. this has been the arrangement for several years and all the clerks at stuff depot know who grunt is and who he works for. on october 1, 2017, big co fires grunt. on october 3, 2017, grunt goes to stuff depot and buys himself some lovely parting gifts, and charges them to big co's account. the clerk at stuff depot does not question grunt's authority to charge on big co's account. as between stuff depot and big co only, is big co liable to stuff depot for the october 3rd charges?
