With a reduction in red oak trees it decreases habitiat for wildlife hence reducing the number of animals in that particular area. this will alter the food chain. e.g. say a type of squirrell lives in the red oak and squirrels eat acorns thay the red oaks provide with the reduction of the red oak, these squirrels won't have a place to habitat so their population will go down. in turn reducing the population of the squirrels as they have lost a food source increasing competiton and a habitat also increasing competiton.
(btw I don't know if red oaks have acorns. just sub in a relevant example)

the reduction of the red oak contributes to the deterioration of biodiversity as it's a loss of a foodsource for multiple organisms and habitat as multiple organisms rely on the red oak.
