Recombinant DNA results from incorporation of the new DNA information into their metabolism. Host bacteria are normally killed by the mentioned antibiotics. If the recombinant plasmids were taken up by the bacteria, plasmids may have contained a DNA gene for resisting the effects of one or more antibiotics.
