Explain why the several different types of microscopes are all necessary.

        There are lots of different uses of diffent kinds of microscopes. It will depend on what are your objectives.

Explanation:

        This can be explained by two examples, the first one is that some students of the first year in biological sciences graduation want to check the walls of a plant, and for that, they need a specific microscope, a  optical microscope, this kind of microscope doesn't zoom in too much as the next one, just because they just want to check the shape of the cell wall, not its components. If they need to check the chemical reactions happening inside of this cell, they're probably going to need a bigger zoom in, and for this case, the use of an electronic microscope  is needed. That's why different types of microscopes are needed.
