Explain the relationship between the food we eat and energy in the body .

All parts of our body need energy to function. This energy comes from the food that we eat.

The body digests the food we eat by different digestive processes. The food is mixed with enzymes right from the mouth and into the stomach , then into the small intestines where it is completely broken down. The carbohydrates are broken down into glucose which is absorbed into the bloodstream from the small intestine.

Once in the bloodstream, glucose can be used right way to provide energy or can be stored in the liver and  muscles as glycogen, to be used later.
