How does carbon dioxide in the atmosphere relate to global temperatures

CO₂ is one of the greenhouse gas and is responsible for the increase in temperature all over the world. CO₂ traps the heat energy and re-radiate some energy towards the earth thereby increases the temperature of the Earth.

An increase in temperature is directly proportional to the increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in the environment and in recent years temperature is increased significantly mainly due to the release of CO₂ in the atmosphere by burning of fossil fuels.

Due to this increase in temperature the glaciers of the earth is melting very fast that increase the water level in the ocean day by day thereby increasing the danger of tsunami.

So carbon dioxide amount in the atmosphere directly relates to the global temperature.
