Further Explanation;Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants and algae use energy from the sun together with carbon dioxide and water to form simple sugars that are used by plants as a source of energy.Through photosynthesis carbon is removed from the atmosphere in form of carbon dioxide. The process of photosynthesis takes place in two stages;Light-dependent stage During this stage the green pigment called chlorophyll absorbs energy from sun light that is used to breakdown water molecules into hydrogen ions and oxygen. This process is called photolysis. The Oxygen gas produced by photolysis is either released to the atmosphere or used in respiration, while the hydrogen ions join the light-independent stage which is the second stage of photosynthesis.Light-independent stage It is the second stage of photosynthesis, also known as carbon dioxide fixation stage. During this stage the hydrogen ions form the first stage combine with carbon dioxide to form simple sugars such as glucose.The simple sugars are then used by the plant to generate energy in the form of ATP or they are stored in form of starch.

the water molecules are transferred from the roots to the stem or top parts of the tall tree because of important properties of water which are adhesion, cohesion and capillary action. cohesion is the property of water molecules keeps water molecules in a combined state by sharing of bonds between them at the atomic level. adhesion allows the interaction of water molecules with other substances or substrate. adhesion will cause the attachment of water molecules to the wall of the vessel (xylem) of the plant. capillary action occurs when the adhesive force to the vessel wall is stronger than the cohesive force between water molecules. capillary action mimics the transfer of water from a tube or pipe. in this way water utilizes its property to transfer water from down to top level of the plant.
