RFLP stands for restriction fragment length polymorphism.

The restriction fragments are fragments formed after getting restricted (cut by restriction enzymes).

Polymorphism means many (poly) forms (morphism). So, length polymorphism means many lengths.

So, RFLP means the cut DNA (restriction fragments) have many lengths (length polymorphism).
