Read the sections titled “retaining water” and “acquiring water.” explain how desert animals retain and acquire water in such a hot and dry environment? (site 3)

A desert is an area where there is very little amount of water available.Due scarcity of water it is very difficult for plants and animals to survive. Only those animals which need little amount of water can survive in the desert  

During the day, desert animals hide themselves in the bushes, whenever there is rain , the animals store water in their bodies. The loss of water from sweat and urine among these animals is minute. Most animals get water from the plants they eat or from the blood of their target/victim
