Sense the dawn of the first micro organism, life has constantly been changing, as the natural invirioment changed, life also had to change in order to survive.

Adaptations are due to random mutations. it could be internal mistakes when DNA is being replicated or it could be from powerfull radiation. After an organism is randomly mutated it will be put forth aginsted the inviroriment. Sometimes it survives and sometimes not. This is called natural selection.

Organisms can also evolve together, this is called coevolution. A great example would be the huming bird and flowers. The huming birds beak fits perfectly inside flowers so that it can get all of the goodys inside. This isn't an accident, they evolved together, this is a mutualistic adaptation.

A second example would be...

The owl. Owls have a keen since of sight. they have binocular vision similar to humans, meaning they can see an object with both eyes at the same time. This gives owls a great ability to judge height, weight, and distance. They can also move there head in a 270 degree turn, this addaptation allows them to see something behind them without moving and making noise.
