1. Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are used as coolants in refrigerators and air conditioners. CFCs are released into the air when these appliances are used and when they're thrown in the dump. What are some ways people in your community could get more informed about appliance recycling?
2. CFCs are used in the manufacturing of some types of plastics and foams. Think of something you use every day that is made out of plastic or foam and imagine if it were made out of an alternate substance. How would it be the same? How would it be different?
3. One or two countries reducing their CFC emissions will not be enough to stop ozone depletion globally. What do you think the countries of the world should do to reduce CFC emissions?
