In the Puget Sound, our "resident" orca population only feeds on salmon. However, a different population, "transients", will only feed on marine mammals such as sea lions. If a "resident" orca individual joined up with the transients and parented some young orcas, what would happen to the gene pool of the transient orcas? What term would you use to describe this? ​
