A science teacher wanted to illustrate some of water's very special properties to her class. She had several areas set up around the classroom. One area had a beaker of water with ice floating on it, another had a beaker with a large amount of salt dissolved in it. On
her desk, the teacher had a large blue flower with the stem submerged in dark blue water. The teacher explained that the flower had
been white when she placed it in the water earlier in the day. What property (or properties) of water enabled the flower to turn from
white to blue?
