Four friends were playing in a swimming pool at Kim's house one afternoon in the summer. Becki, who
wore glasses at school, was wearing goggles. The other girls asked why she had them on.
Bonnie said, "They don't work the same way as glasses. Take them off."
"I know that, but I still feel like I see better with them on," Becki replied.
"Let's test iti" chimed in Kim. "My dad is an ophthalmologist, an eye doctor, and has eye charts all over the
house. I'll go grab one, and we can take turns holding it under water."
All four girls took turns reading the eye chart with and without goggles under the water. Their results are
