So, that means it can't be D. That's not working on defending your position, it's working on changing it. 

C is also out. Ignoring criticism is a horrible thing to do! You should always accept constructive criticism, as it helps us grow and change for the better.

The leaves A and B. A is also not trying to defend your position, but change it. Besides that, you can't just alter experimental results.

Changing something just to fit the opinion of other people is not only breaking the scientific method, but it's just not right.
