Explain how a compound microscope allows you to see magnified images.

Basically, there are two lenses. One is called the objective lens and the other an eyepiece lens. The objective lens is located above the observed object and it gathers light and focuses it on the image of the object. The eyepiece lens is next to where you put your eye and it is used to magnify the image created by the objective lens. Usually, compound microscopes have many interchangeable objective lenses that are used to change the degree of magnification or the clarity of it.
