The endosymbiotic theory was eukaryotes that evolved to prokaryotes then to other organelles. Chloroplasts are similar to prokaryotic cells because they have a double membrane structures and more. Things that support this theories can be like I said, double membrane structures which both have and  circular DNA and bacteria ribosomes too.
